Summer Camp - Kidz at Kamp

Kidz at Kamp is a 4-night, 5-day camp, located at Riverbend Retreat Center in Glen Rose, TX for children who have completed 3rd-5th grade as of 6/2018.  Kids will experience exciting worship and Bible study, fun recreation, amazing opportunities to build relationships with Christ, and more!

Mini Camp is a fun 2-day, 1-night church camp for children that have completed 1st or 2nd grades.  This camp allows young children to experience the joys of summer camp while only being away from home a short period of time.  What a great way to learn more about Jesus and have lots of fun in the process!

We will also need a copy of the front and back of your child’s insurance card. Please make every effort to attend this meeting, as important information will be given and paperwork will be turned in.

  • Arrive at the RPC NorthPointe Student Center on July 12, 2018 by 12:15pm for check-in
  • Be sure to eat lunch before check-in (children may bring a small snack for the road)
  • Bus departs at 1:00pm
  • Have all sleeping gear in some type of bag labeled with first and last name, boy or girl, and grade just completed

  • Arrive at Camp Copass (8200 East McKinney Street, Denton TX 76208) at 1:30pm on July 27, 2018 for check-in
  • Be sure to feed your child lunch before arriving
  • You are welcome to help your child set up their bunk and get settled. You will have approximately 15 minutes together before our activities start.

    CrossTraining…where skills training & spiritual training meet – the cross!

    CrossTraining is an exciting week that teaches children how to bring glory to God through a skill of their choice and saturates them in deep Biblical truths along the way.  CrossTraining 2018 focuses on Jesus’ EXTREME love for us!

    $10 per child (up to a maximum of $20 per family) – includes 4 days of CrossTraining, a t-shirt, and light snack each evening

    REGISTRATION

    Participant registration opens on Saturday, April 21 at 8:00am.  Registration will remain open until June 4; however, skill choices will close as they fill.

    *To register for this event, you must have a myRPC account.  If you do not have an account, please create one now. For help with myRPC, please email myrpchelp@rockpointechurch.org Please do this well before April 21, as it takes up to 24 hours to receive your login credentials.  Skills fill up quickly, often the morning that registration opens, so you’ll want to make sure you have access to register BEFORE April 21.

    Once you receive your account information, you can register for this event by selecting this event in the FORMS tab within myRPC or by clicking on the skill button below.  After your initial myRPC set up, it will be easier than ever before to register for events, give online, interact with your RockPointe groups, and manage your RPC calendar.  Thank you for setting up your account within myRPC!

    CrossTraining 2018 offers 14 skill choices.  Each child will select ONE skill that he/she will learn during the entire week.  Please note the grade level requirements for each skill.

    This skill is a fun way for children to explore their artistic side. Children will experience hands-on art projects using a variety of different mediums such as painting, drawing, sewing, pottery, and more.

    Basketball

    Does your child dream of becoming the next Kevin Durant or Michael Jordan? Even the greats have to start with the basics! In this skill, kids will learn the basics of basketball including dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork.

    Cheerleading

    Do you ever wonder where your kiddo gets all of that energy and enthusiasm? Channel it into this sport which fosters the encouragement of others! Children will learn the basics of cheerleading through rotations that include stunting, jumps, cheers, and chants.

    Does your child love to watch cooking shows on TV or like to help you bake cookies or make dinner? In this skill, children will enjoy the art of cooking through making sweet and savory dishes.

     

    **Children with severe gluten and peanut allergies are not encouraged to select this skill.

    Dance

    Does your little girl dance to imaginary songs in your living room? Allow her to express herself while she learns dance styles such as ballet, jazz, modern, and contemporary through technique training and choreography.

    Drama

    This skill will bring out the most creative and dramatic parts of your children (in a good way)! Kids will learn about drama through various mediums such as skits, improv, and creative story telling.

    Fishing

    Completed 2nd - Completed 5th grade

     

    Children will gain fishing skills such as learning the difference between lures, baiting a hook, and casting while fishing in a pond stocked by the children themselves. So much fun!

    We are excited to introduce our newest skill to CrossTraining - a Texas favorite - football! Children will explore the fundamentals of flag football such as throwing, catching, and running routes and plays.

    In this dynamic skill, children will learn to develop their imagination and put creative thinking into action through interactive games and teamwork challenges.

    Has your child been accidentally knocking your pictures off the wall with rubber bullets or darts? Here's their chance to learn accuracy through a little target practice! Children will learn the basic skills of archery and riflery as well as safety rules when engaging in these outdoor sports.

    Martial Arts

    Children will learn fundamentals of martial arts, gaining new skills and increased confidence while training under two black belt instructors. They may even find themselves breaking boards by the end of the week!

    Ranch Skills

    Completed 4th - Completed 5th grade

     

    Have you ever wondered what a day in the life of a rancher might include? Children will get to experience some of those very things while learning basic skills used in ranching like wood working, roping, forging, and leather working.

    Children will have the time of their lives learning about the sport of indoor soccer (futsol) as well as outdoor soccer while working on the basics of dribbling, shooting, and scoring.
