Our Story
The RockPointe Story
Video version: Watch Now
The story of RockPointe Church goes back to March 2001, when Ron and Allison Holton began to pray and dream of planting a new church. At the time, Ron was serving as the singles minister at Prestonwood Church. As the process began, they were encouraged to pray specifically about the newly developed Lantana area. This was the start of an incredible journey of seeing the Lord direct, provide for and clarify the vision of RockPointe. After meeting at several different locations throughout the years and even changing our name, the story continues to unfold today in ways we couldn't even imagine.|

Why Are We Here? (Our Mission)
RockPointe Church exists “to love God with all that we are while making more and better followers of Christ.”
We want everything we do at RockPointe to be motivated by a thankful heart. Our love for God is simply a response to the amazing love He has poured out on our behalf (Romans 5:8). And we want to share that good news with everyone!
RockPointe Family Values
Being part of a family and spending time together is an important thing. Different families have different priorities and values. We believe there are some key elements when it comes to being part of the RockPointe family.
Spiritual Disciplines
Prayer and studying God's Word are essential to growing in our faith. Giving our attention to what God has to say and yielding our lives to His instruction leads to a purposeful and meaningful life. It's the “abundant life” that Jesus talks about in John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
Small Groups
We all need friends and God has wired us to enjoy relationships with others. At RockPointe, small groups provide the best way for us to connect with others in a safe, genuine environment and to experience the life that God has for us. Groups meet at different locations and times and provide a variety of topics and activities for individuals and families.
Serving
Serving at RockPointe means we give our time and talent to glorify God and benefit others. We believe that God has given every member of the body of Christ gifts and talents to serve Him and to meet the needs of others.
Sharing
When we talk about sharing at RockPointe we mean three things:- Sharing our life
- Sharing our resources
- Sharing our faith
As we mentioned earlier, sharing life happens best in a small group setting. Sharing resources means that we give financially to support the ministries of RockPointe and help others. Sharing our faith means that we look for chances to build friendships and share the good news of Jesus Christ.
Who Are We Hoping to Become? (Our Vision)
The dream of RockPointe Church is to be a church that is:- Receiving
- Equipping
- Impacting
- Sending
We are a Receiving Church
Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) We are all weary and burdened in some way. We are all broken people. We all have struggles. We all have baggage. At RockPointe, it's okay to come just as you are. You don't have to clean yourself up first or pretend that everything is perfect. We welcome you, we care about you and we're glad to share life with you.
We are an Equipping Church
Would you expect a carpenter to build a house without a saw or a set of blueprints? And wouldn't it be better if there was someone to help him out with the heavy lifting instead of him trying to do it all by himself? In the same way, we want to come alongside and help you develop the skills and wisdom needed to live a life of meaning and purpose. We want to help you know and follow God's best for your life (Hebrews 13:20-21). We want to help you discover the freedom of knowing and living by the truth of God's word (2 Timothy 3:16). We want you to experience the joy and peace that come as you depend on the power of God instead of trying to live life in your own strength (Galatians 5:22-25).
We are an Impacting Church
One of the greatest blessings of the Christian life is watching God use us to serve and encourage those around us. We want to use the gifts and resources God has given us to minister to children, students, men & women. We have a multitude of opportunities to do that right here within the RockPointe family as well as in our local neighborhoods and communities. We want to be a church that makes a positive impact for Christ in the life of every person that enters our doors as well as those who live nearby.
We are a Sending Church
Jesus said, “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations” (Matt 28:19-20). We are probably not going to become a mega-church. There's absolutely nothing wrong with thousands of people coming to one location. That's just not who we think God has called RockPointe to be. Instead, a unique part of our vision is to send people out…releasing leaders and families to start new churches…encouraging and supporting those who are mission-minded…and partnering with those who have a passion for loving and serving the most neglected and needy. For more information on our beliefs at RockPointe Church, please see our Statement of Faith.
