Hands Across the Community

We are aware of the rain. It’s a fast moving system and will be out of the area by 9a. Despite the showers this morning, HAC is still happening today! Please proceed to your designated job site at the previously arranged time. Team captains have been briefed and have back up plans.

What is Hands Across the Community?

Hands Across the Community is just that, the Church going into the community to be the hands and feet of Christ. Each year, RPC chooses one Sunday to suspend worship services and send the Church out into the community to serve.

Hands Across the Community 2017 is just around the corner!

How can I help?

Registration is closed, but here’s how you can still serve:

Write an encouraging letter to our military or perhaps to one of the missionaries we support. We will meet in the lobby of the church from 9:30a to 11:30a on Sunday, May 21.

If you’re already signed up:

Here’s a quick reference reminding you where to go for each location:

CCA: Todays’ project has been postponed until 9a to give the storm system time to move out of the area. We have a lot of moving parts on Sunday morning. We will all meet at CCA at 200 S. Mill Street, Lewisville, promptly at 8a. We will disperse from there, with several of us remaining at that location, some going to CCA on 121 in Lewisville, and some going to CCA in The Colony.

Christ’s Have for Children: Meet at the Chapel on the grounds at 4200 Keller Haslet Road, Keller, at 8a. Bruce will lead with a prayer and quick instructions to all the teams. Maps to the work sites, located on the grounds of Christ’s Haven, will be in the Chapel.  If you have extra tools, please bring them.

Nursing Homes: If you’re serving at Rambling Oaks, Autumn Leaves or Rosewood, meet in the RPC lobby at 8:30a to gather supplies and disperse from there. If you are serving at, Avalon Memory Care, report directly to the facility, located at 6601 Raintree Place, Flower Mound, at 11a.

Salvation Army: Meet at the Salvation Army, 206 W. Main Street, Lewisville, at 8a. If you plan to work on landscaping, bring appropriate tools.

Union Gospel Mission:  Meet at The Women & Children’s Shelter Center of Hope, 4815 Cass St., Dallas, 75235, at 8a. There should be plenty of parking around the building. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by Chaplain Yulice and she will direct you where to start the activities.

Vickery Elementary: Meet at in the lunchroom at Vickery Elementary, 3301 Wager Rd, Flower Mound,  75028, at 9a. Plan to work until 1p.

Unable to serve but would like to help? Consider helping with project supplies by donating directly to Hands Across Community.
