Marriage Ministry Director
Husband: Brian, Children: three grown daughters—Erin, Jamie and Brett, and two sons-in-law—Destin and Jon and two granddaughters.
Marriage & Family Ministry wasn’t even on our radar when we married in 1980, but became a passion for us in 1991 when we attended a FamilyLife marriage getaway in Anchorage, Alaska. During that weekend, we had a “light bulb” moment where God clearly called us to pursue opportunities for equipping couples to experience life-long, thriving and God-honoring marriages. Over the years while serving full-time with FamilyLife, our efforts became more focused on serving the local church through marriage ministry. God has blessed us beyond measure by bringing us to and allowing us to serve at RockPointe.
Something Most People Don’t Know:
I can write backwards in print and in cursive. Be jealous. Also, I compulsively collect the little soaps, shampoos/conditioners, lotions, sewing kits and shower caps from hotels. I have a large drawer full of them. It’s a sickness—I can’t help myself.
My Trademark Expression:
“Why are all the comfortable shoes so ugly?”
Besides the Bible, my recommended reading would be:
The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie O’Martian
A Lasting Promise – A Christian Guide to Fighting for Your Marriage by Stanley, Trathen, McCain, and Bryan
I’m not Suffering from Insanity…I’m Enjoying Every Minute of It! by Karen Scalf Linamen.
I’m most excited about:
When God transforms a life and I get to witness it; seeing couples’ marriages strengthened and restored; traveling to interesting places with Brian and GRANDCHILDREN!
My favorite TV shows:
“NCIS,” Food Network and HGTV “House Hunters International.”
In my free time, I usually:
Listen to music, cook new recipes (from the Food Network shows), and watch our new budget line item closely as I buy goodies for my grandchildren.
