My Family:
I have been married to my beautiful wife, Katie, since December 2007. We actually graduated high school together in Cooper, TX, and became best friends in college. Upon graduating college we began dating, 4 months later got engaged, and 8 months later were married. In February 2012, we were blessed with our first child, our daughter Hannah. In July of 2014 we had our second, our crazy awesome son Micah. Our second son, Judah, was born in May of 2016.

My Story:
My story is one of grace, and one marked by the pursuit and patience of a loving God towards a sinful man. We spent 10 years in the metroplex where we attended FBC Euless on and off. As a seven year old, I accepted Christ as my savior and was baptized. However, the pursuit of acceptance became my aim as a middle school and early high school kid. After a series of events, my parents forced me to go to a DNOW weekend with the youth group, and I believe that is where, for the first time, I realized that following God was worth any amount of sacrifice—and went all in after Christ. A few months after finding my place in the youth group and making new Godly friends, we picked up and moved to the town of Cooper, TX, in Northeast Texas. This was a hard move that eventually turned into home. As a junior at church camp, I received a call to ministry, along with a few others in our group…one of which happened to be my future wife. I began leading worship for our youth group my senior year with a clear call from the Lord that I was supposed to serve Him within the church. My first two years of college, I traveled with Centri-Kid camps through Life Way Ministries. These proved to be times of incredible growth for me spiritually. Upon returning home my freshman summer, my home church, FBC Cooper, brought me on as a youth intern. I served in that position for four years until finally I became the Worship/College Pastor for the church. I received my degree in middle level math and began teaching and bi-vocational ministry for the next five years. However, in 2012, I moved to First Baptist Church Paris as the full time Worship/College Pastor. It was an incredible time of growing and learning about full-time ministry. During that time I began traveling with my worship band, Kindlin (kindlinmusic.com).  As the Lord blessed our efforts, we began playing for several camps and weekend retreats for churches in Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.  It wasn’t too long into that journey that we lead worship for the students at RockPointe—which led to eventually coming on staff as the Worship Pastor for RockPointe in March of 2016. We now live in Roanoke, and love serving at RockPointe as a family.

Things Most People Don’t Know:
I love the outdoors.  My favorite hobbies are bass fishing, hunting, and camping.  I was able to back pack the Grand Canyon 40 Miles in 5 days (it was AWESOME).

Besides the Bible, my recommended reading would be:

  • Desiring God by Piper
  • The Cross of Christ by John Stott
  • Spiritual Disciplines of the Christian Life by Whitney

I’m Most Excited About:
The opportunity to grow disciples of Christ through a Gospel-centered worship ministry. Also, to help our congregation to weekly press hard into the Lord through music worship.

My Favorite TV Shows:
Alone, Dual Survival, The Office, Black List, and The Walking Dead
