Discipleship Process

Our adult discipleship ministry supports RockPointe’s mission statement “to make more and better followers (disciples) of Christ”. Think of discipleship as a lifelong process and journey rooted in a relationship with Jesus. It is learning to follow Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, seeking to observe all that Jesus commanded, by the power of the Holy Spirit and to the glory of God the Father. RPC affirms that one comes to a personal relationship with Christ by grace through faith and not by works (Eph 2:8-9). This salvation or conversion experience is only the beginning of our spiritual journey to become more Christ-like. While our conversion is purely a gift from God in response to our faith, our journey of Christ-likeness requires work. This is expressed in our discipleship ministry key verse: “Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear.” Philippians 2:12b (NLT)

Learning to live a more consistent Christian life is more than purely gaining more head knowledge but is about life transformation (Rom 12:1-2). It is a process, a way of life. Our 5 C’s identifies the marks of a maturing disciple (click here). They capture the process while providing a spiritual growth plan.

The adult discipleship ministry offers a variety of studies and opportunities for active participation to strengthen your faith and equip you for faithful ministry. Classes are offered throughout the week at convenient times to help you make time to attend, participate, and grow more like Christ.

Our pastoral staff invites and encourages each RockPointe attendee to commit to a journey of Christ-likeness. The process is simple. Look over the opportunities for study and choose one that fits your schedule.
