Mission 56
April 21, 2018. All day
Organizer: Christy McCallum

Mission 56 is an incredible time for 5th and 6th graders to experience their first overnight mission trip!  This year, Mission 56 will be part of RPC's Hands Across the Community event.

WHO:  Current 5th and 6th grade students.

WHEN:  April 21-22, 2018

WHERE:  Dallas, TX

Mission 56 lays a missional foundation for students at the local level, preparing them for future mission trips that are for a longer period of time and a further distance away.
This year, 5th and 6th graders will team up on a two day mission trip to South Dallas. Serving with CitySquare, students will learn how this organization fights the causes and effects of poverty through service, advocacy and friendship. Service projects for this mission include: organizing food pantry items, creating activity packs for "Food on the Move" summer lunch program, and distributing lunches to neighbors in-need. This mission also includes a poverty-simulation board game which will sensitize students to the realities of life faced by low-income people in our community.
Mission56 participants will stay overnight at Mount Lebanon Camp & Retreat Center.

COST:  $50

Registration closes when all spots are filled.

***IMPORTant note***

Pick up for Mission56 will be at Cornerstone Baptist Church (the old church location) at 2815 S. ERVAY, Dallas, TX 75215 at 9:30am Sunday, April 22. RockPointe's HAC (Hands Across the Community) is on this same date, so instead of Sunday morning worship services, the church is invited to serve all across the metroplex. Our hope and desire is that after you pick up your 5th/6th grade student, you would then serve as a family at one of the downtown Dallas HAC sites. As soon as registration for HAC is open, we will send you the link so you can sign your family up for one of the opportunities.
