MISSIONS

ONE FOR ONE

In 2020, we’re working together to be intentional in making a Kingdom impact. Just as you are generously giving over and above your normal amount working to help fund Kingdom Moments at Parker Square, RPC is generously increasing our giving as well. Throughout the year, RPC will be intentional about giving above and beyond our planned budget. For every one person attending church on a designated Sunday, RPC will send one dollar to a chosen partner. One dollar multiplied by each person who is in attendance on Sunday morning – that’s enough to make an impact on the ministries we support, an impact above and beyond the RPC missions budget. These dollars are in addition to our budgeted planned giving to our partners, giving them an unexpected, and perhaps much needed financial blessing.

Ministry Focus

Meridzo Ministries

Above and Beyond: $1,417

Lonnie and Belinda Riley, the founders of Meridzo Center Ministries, sensed God leading them to “return home and help hurting people,” in late 1998. Over the past 20 years, God has displayed His power in amazing ways.

Meridzo Center Ministries is a faith-based ministry where the staff members do not receive a salary. In the heart of Appalachia located in Lynch, KY, Meridzo provides aid through various ministries in the Harlan County area.

RockPointe will be returning for the fourth year in a row over spring break. We will be involved in a variety of mission projects throughout the community that supports the work of the missionaries that are actively caring for their community through a variety of ministries. Contact Missions if you would like more information.

Weekend to Remember

Above and Beyond: $1,261

In 1976, Dennis and Barbara Rainey, missionaries with Campus Crusade for Christ (now called CRU) began hosting weekend marriage conferences for the young missionary couples on staff. Word got out about the conference weekends and 40+ years later, hundreds of thousands have attended what has become the FamilyLife “Weekend to Remember.” By pointing individuals and couples to Christ through biblically-based events, resources, and radio, the ministry has helped thousands of couples draw closer to each other and to God.

Couples attend Weekend to Remember because they’re ready to invest in their marriage and intentionally move towards oneness. This two-and-a-half day getaway weekend encourages couples to invest in and strengthen their marriage―no matter how firm or fragile.

RockPointe invites you to attend the June 5-7 event in Plano. Visit Weekend to Remember or contact Married Life if you would like more information.

Rehoboth Ministries India

Above and Beyond: $1,692

Pastor Kantharao Meesala is the founder and president of Rehoboth Ministries India a ministry focused on church planting, pastoral training, sewing school, orphanage ministry, and Jesus film ministry. Pastor Kantharao is the first-generation Christian saved from a Hindu religious background. In India, there are many villages that have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ. RMI’s passion is to reach out to these remote villages and towns with the message of love and hope.

RockPointe has a mission trip scheduled to India July 21 – 31.  This trip will include hosting a national youth leader meeting outside of Mumbai, and working with Rehoboth Ministries outside of Hyderabad.  Evangelism, student ministry, women’s ministry, church planting, working with an orphanage, and training church leaders will all be potential ways in which mission trip participants will be serving while on this trip.  Visit  Rehoboth Ministries and Reach-Out Youth Solutions to see who we will partner with while in India. Deadline for signup on this trip will be March 31.

Refuge for Women

Above and Beyond: $1,339

Refuge for Women is a nonprofit, faith-based organization providing specialized long-term care for women who have escaped human trafficking or sexual exploitation. Refuge for Women offers up to twelve months of safe housing, at no charge to the resident, with around the clock care as clients progress through trauma-informed programming. Residents work through the program to reclaim their identities and reach their goals to overcome addictions, heal from trauma and develop life skills leading to healthy, balanced living and financial independence. Refuge for Women strives to help each woman complete the program with a vision for her future, equipped to succeed and sustain a life marked with dignity and hope.

Each dollar donated from One for One will go to help fund the much-needed Transitional Living House in our area. This house will be offered to women who have graduated from the program and/or to women who have graduated from a similar program within the last 12 months. This transitional home provides a way for women to walk out the skills learned and independence gained in a safe and encouraging environment.

Kids Konnect 4 Jesus

Above and Beyond: $1,400

This October, we will be celebrating our 10-year partnership with Kidz Konnect for Jesus. Kidz Konnect for Jesus started in 2005 as a long term, focused ministry located in Belize, Central America.

Working alongside the people in the southern part of Belize, KK4Jesus shares the Love of Jesus by implementing children and student ministry into public schools (presently six schools/2,000+ children each week) and local churches. They have established feeding and food distribution programs (close to 1 million meals annually) with the goal of moving towards community gardens. For the past four years, they have organized quarterly medical teams with free medicine and vitamins and have both a stationary clinic as well as “mobile” medical equipment.

They provide on-going leadership development and training programs to teachers, pastors, parents, and young people so that they may be “equipped” to grow and replicate. They also assist with a variety of basic physical needs, such as clothing, shelter, educational scholarships, and personal counseling.

Men of Nehemiah

Above and Beyond: $1,400

For several years we have partnered with The Men of Nehemiah located in South Dallas. The MON is a military-style Christian discipleship program designed to rebuild the lives of men and their families that have been torn apart by poverty, homelessness, substance abuse, crime, and violence.

“We know that this COVID-19 pandemic has affected everyone in our country and gifts to our ministry will decrease during this time. Although we have taken measures to reduce our expenses during this crisis, we are committed to and responsible for still providing excellent care and programming to the 50+ men on our campus. Your gift would allow us to continue to help rebuild the lives of broken men in their journey to breaking the cycle of addiction and all that comes from it. Your gift will ensure these men still receive clinical treatment, counseling, biblical training, and military discipline during these times.”  Colonel Louis

The Salvation Army

Above and Beyond: $1,400

The Salvation Army of Lewisville has been caring for our community for years. They consistently assess the needs of the community and respond by building local programs designed to offer immediate relief, short-term care, and long-term growth in the areas that will best benefit each individual physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

Through this time of COVID The Salvation Army has experienced a 400% increase in the needs of our community from new clients and existing clients.

At RockPointe Church, through your tithes we are able to designate funds to help support our ministry partner throughout the year. With the increase in demand for food and services, One for One is a tremendous blessing.

Wells of Joy

Above and Beyond: $

The current situation is affecting our partners around the globe in ways we cannot understand here in Flower Mound.

“We thank God for the continued partnership with RockPointe. The situation here is hard and uncertain. Thankfully and to our amazement there are only a few cases of Covid-19 in the slum. But, the government food supply here is unreliable and we feel helpless as we watch the overwhelming suffering around us. God’s love to us is so real. Pass greetings to the brethren at RockPointe. Thank you and may God bless you.” Pastor Geoffrey

The additional funding will help them help the families in their school and church who are in great distress. He asked that we pray that during these days the children are protected from the drugs and promiscuity running rampant in the slum, and that the children of their school are safe in their homes because so many parents are dealing with depression.

First Refuge Ministries

Above and Beyond: $1,400

First Refuge is a ministry of the Church located in Denton. They partner with churches to better serve the communities with essential basic services such as food pantry, medical and dental clinic, chiropractic care, and counseling ministry. They have been able to continue their medical and counseling services through tela-med and they have seen a 200% increase in food distribution.

Elio Martiz Cuba

Above and Beyond: $1,400

The last few months have proven extremely difficult for the people in Cuba. They are continually challenged by rolling blackouts, food shortages, and a lack of transportation throughout the country. Pastor Elio shared with us that due to issues outside of his control, the water to the church and pastoral house had been cut off. They have been working diligently to find a way to restore the water there.

However, at the same time, he invites us to rejoice with him at what God has done in their church in the midst of the Covid-19 crisis. Two years ago, RockPointe helped their church purchase the equipment necessary to have a router and WiFi connection. For the first time, they were able to start connecting with their church members online.

We praise God for all that He is doing in this amazing country!

Rock Foundation Cambodia

Above and Beyond: $1,400

Last month, Rock Foundation held their second big outreach as part of Covid relief efforts. Hundreds of men, women and children who have been impacted most by this pandemic were shown the love of Jesus as they provided them with life-sustaining resources.

More than 5,500 KG (12,100 lbs.) of rice, 1,650 bottles with half soy sauce and half fish sauce, and 1,650 toothbrushes and toothpaste were distributed to 275 families struggling to meet their basic living needs. Crutches and walkers from the latest medical containers that were imported were also provided to disabled Cambodians and amputees to help improve their quality of life.

Texas Baptist River Ministry

Above and Beyond: $

Our ministry partners, Pastor Shon and Janeene Young lead and support as Local Missions Ministers touching the lives of their local community as well as the migrants who are legally released at our border, awaiting their asylum court date. Working with the communities of Del Rio, TX and Ciudad Acuña, Mexico, Pastor Shon is the River Ministry Coordinator for the Baptist General Convention of Texas, Pastor at City Church Del Rio, and Chairman of the Val Verde Border Humanitarian Coalition. Janeene actively serves at the Val Verde Border Humanitarian Coalition and leads a local community after school program.

Shon and Janeene were hoping to be here in person with us this weekend, however, there has been quite a spike in positive COVID cases and deaths in Del Rio as well as across the border into Mexico where we at RockPointe have had the opportunity of serving. The Mexican Consulate has contacted Shon to work with him in getting food and supplies into Mexico to help with the effects of the pandemic.

The money from OFO will help Shon and Janeene get food and supplies into the hands of those that need it!
