Why was it necessary for Christ, the Redeemer, to die?
- Answer: Christ died willingly in our place to deliver us from the power and penalty of sin and bring us back to God.
- Scripture: And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him. (Colossians 1:21–22)
- Prayer: Lord, knowing your Father’s will, you came into the world to save us. You are the one who saves! You, our Redeemer, died in our place to save us. Father, forgive us our sins for the sake of your Son. Let your Spirit watch over us, and let your love always rule in our hearts. We ask this through your Son, in whom you are always well pleased. Amen.
