Teach me Your way, O Lord, that I may live according to Your truth.

Psalm 86:11a

CrossTraining is an exciting week that teaches children how to bring glory to God through a skill of their choice and saturates them in deep Biblical truths along the way. During CrossTraining 2025, we will learn how to be Bible detectives and discover that God's word and promises are TRUE! Kids, get ready for the most active, most fun, and most impactful week of the summer!

CrossTraining is for all kids who have completed Kindergarten - 5th Grade.

The cost is $15 per child.

CROSSTRAINING SKILLS

  • ART

Completed Kindergarten - Completed 5th Grade

Is your kiddo the type that can create a spaceship or a fort out of your discarded appliance box? This skill is a fun way for children to explore their artistic side. Children will experience hands-on art projects using a variety of different mediums such as painting, drawing, sewing, pottery, and more.

  • BASKETBALL

Completed Kindergarten - Completed 5th Grade

Does your child dream of becoming the next LaBron James or Steph Curry? Even the greats have to start with the basics! In this skill, kids will learn the basics of basketball including dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork.

  • CHEERLEADING

Completed Kindergarten - Completed 5th Grade

Do you ever wonder where your kiddo gets all of that energy and enthusiasm? Channel it into this sport which fosters the encouragement of others! Children will learn the basics of cheerleading through rotations that include stunting, jumps, cheers, and chants.

  • COOKING

    Completed 2nd - Completed 5th Grade

Does your child love to watch cooking shows on TV or like to help you bake cookies or make dinner? In this skill, children will enjoy the art of cooking through making sweet and savory dishes.

**Children with severe gluten and nut allergies are not encouraged to select this skill.

  • DRAMA

    Completed 3rd - Completed 5th Grade

Lights, camera, ACTION!  Does your child have a flair for the dramatic or does he/she just enjoy being in the spotlight?  If so, join us for a skill that lets children explore and expand their imagination and creativity.

  • FISHING

    Completed 2nd - Completed 5th Grade

Does your kiddo dream of catching the “big one?” In this skill, children will gain fishing techniques such as learning the difference between lures, baiting a hook, and casting while fishing in a pond stocked by the children themselves. So much fun!

  • FLAG FOOTBALL

Completed Kindergarten - Completed 5th Grade

Down, set, HUT!  Join us for a Texas favorite - football! Children will explore the fundamentals of flag football such as throwing, catching, and running routes and plays.

  • MARKSMANSHIP

    Completed 3rd - Completed 5th Grade

Has your child been accidentally knocking your pictures off the wall with rubber bullets or darts? Here’s their chance to learn accuracy through a little target practice! Children will learn the basic skills of archery and riflery as well as safety rules when engaging in these outdoor sports.

  • MARTIAL ARTS/SPORTS SKILLS

Completed Kindergarten – Completed 3rd grade

Not interested in concentrating on just one thing this week? That’s ok – this skill has a little bit of everything! This year, we have combined the Martial Arts and Sports Skills offerings into one! During one rotation, children will learn fundamentals of martial arts while gaining new skills and an increased confidence. During the other rotation, children will enjoy learning about a variety of different sports including lacrosse, kickball, track and field, and more!

  • RANCH SKILLS

    Completed 3rd - Completed 5th Grade

Have you ever wondered what a day in the life of a rancher might include?  Children will get to experience some of those very things while learning basic skills used in ranching like wood working, roping, forging, and leather working.

  • SCIENCE LAB

    Completed 4th - Completed 5th Grade

Faith and science are inseparable.  God's character and design is woven into every aspect of science from biology to chemistry to physics and beyond.  If we look closely enough at creation through the lens of science, we will actually see evidence that the world was made by a sovereign Creator. Come discover with us!

  • SOCCER

Completed Kindergarten – Completed 5th grade

Can your child make just about anything into a ball that can be kicked around the house? In this skill, children will have the time of their lives learning about the sport of indoor soccer (futsol) as well as outdoor soccer while working on the basics of dribbling, shooting, and scoring.

  • VOLLEYBALL

    Completed 2nd - Completed 5th Grade

Bump, Set, Spike...we're serving up a new skill this year - Volleyball!  Learn the fundamentals of volleyball (serving, setting, hitting, and passing) and then put them to use in a match each night.

  • SPECIAL NEEDS

    Completed 2nd - Completed 5th Grade

We are excited to offer the following skills for 2nd-5th graders with special needs: Art, Basketball, Cheerleading, Drama, Fishing, Flag Football, Martial Arts/Sports Skills, Soccer, and Volleyball. Children will participate in the skill of their choice in a way that is most comfortable to them – and we will provide a buddy to help make this the best experience for them.

IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

When registering for CrossTraining, children will select their top 3 skill choices instead of registering for a specific skill. Children will be placed in their permanent skill position by our staff, and an email will be sent when that placement has been made. Skills will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
