  • WHAT IS FAMILY CAMP?

    Family camp is an annual vacation event at Shepherd of the Ozarks (SOTO). Amazing scenery, luxurious lodges, and great food served buffet style. That means no cooking for mom (or dad)! There are activities for all ages:


    • Horseback riding
    • Paintball
    • High ropes
    • Cliffhanger
    • Sand volleyball
    • Basketball
    • Frisbee golf
    • Canoeing

    Days are free to enjoy as a family with the evening reserved for a time of praise and worship, a message from God’s Word and fun games for the elementary age children. This is a true opportunity for physical and spiritual refreshment as a family.

  • HOW MUCH DOES FAMILY CAMP COST?

    Your family will stay in a private room and bath for 5 nights and 6 days. The per person rate includes lodging, fourteen meals and access to 435 acres at SOTOcamp. Each night, SOTO provides worship service with a message and fun games for the elementary age children. Scheduled / paid activities require sign up and additional cost.


    Adult (12yrs and older): $615.00

    Youth/ Child (5-11yrs): $375.00

    Infant/ Toddler (0-4yrs): $30.00

  • PACKING SUGGESTIONS

    Clothing/footwear

    • Casual clothing. Buildings are air-conditioned and heated.
    • Modest Swimwear.
    • Extra sneakers or water shoes for the creek.
    • Closed-toe/heel shoes for hiking, ropes, obstacle course, paintball and horses.
    • Jeans for hiking, horses.
    • Dark or camo clothes for paintball.
    • Rain Gear: light jacket, umbrella, or poncho.

    Linen/Towels

    • All bedding and bath towels are provided. (one towel per person)
    • Bring your own Towels for Swimming.

    Personal Items

    • Hand Sanitizer and Antibacterial Wipes
    • Personal Water Bottle
    • Flashlight
    • Washers/Dryers are available; bring your own detergent
    • Hairdryer
    • Pack-n-Play for babies
    • Money for Snack Shop. (open in the summer)
    • Payment for the Scheduled Activities
    • Lawn chairs for the creek.
    • Butterfly/fish net, snorkeling gear, light tackle for fishing
    • Insect/tick repellent, sunscreen, poison ivy medicine, prescriptions
    • Minor First Aid Supplies
    • Laundry Bag or Basket for dirty clothes
    • Games or Puzzles for evening entertainment
    • Small Cooler for day trips or creek
    • Small Backpack

    • Hangers for clothes

    Miscellaneous

    • Your lodge has a kitchen with refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, pantry, coffee pots and filters. You will need to bring coffee and cream.
    • Bagged Ice is available outside of the Buffalo Center for $1 per bag.
    • Grills are Charcoal Grills. Bring Charcoal and Lighter Fluid.
    • A gift shop with some toiletries, t-shirts, caps and specialty items can be opened at your convenience.

    Please do NOT bring balloons, silly string, pets or other animals, motorcycles, ATV’s, weapons, fireworks, alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs. All buildings are smoke-free.

  • FAQs

    What are Check in, Check out times?

    Our check-in time is 3:00pm and check-out is 10:00am. In some situations, we can accept special requests.


    Who will be the camp pastor?

    RockPointe Church is hosting this week of family camp. RockPointe Pastors will be speaking each night. 


    Are pets allowed?

    No, SOTO is a pet free environment. Please let us know if you need any recommendations for Kennels.


    Will I need any extra money?

    Yes, if you’d like to purchase any items for the Buffalo Trading Post/ Gift Store, Snack Shack or schedule additional activities.


    Are laundry facilities available?

    Yes, each lodges is equipped with a washer and dryer. You will need to bring detergent.


    Do I need to bring bed linens or towels?

    No, all linens are provided. However, you will need to bring your own towel for the creek. Bath towels are not allowed outside the lodges.

    How can I be contacted in case of an emergency?

    Please share our Welcome Center phone number with your family for emergencies only. 870. 448.3242


    Is there cell phone and internet service?

    There is no cell service in the main camp area. However, you can get a signal at the Shepherd of the Ozarks entrance sign. Wireless Internet service is available in the Buffalo Center. Service strength has improved but we only provide internet service at the request of the group leaders.


    Can we start a campfire?

    Yes, each lodge has a campfire area. We will even supply the wood and lighter fluid.


    Are there coffee pots in the lodges?

    Yes! We provide coffee pots and filters. You bring the coffee.


    Where is the nearest place to buy groceries?

    Marshall - 25 minutes - Harps Grocery Store

    Mountain View - 45 minutes - Walmart
