CrossTraining is an exciting week that teaches children how to bring glory to God through a skill of their choice, and saturates them in deep Biblical truths along the way. CrossTraining 2019 focuses on the beautiful reality that all of God’s words are true and that the TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE!

Registration

Participant Registration opens Saturday, March 30 at 8:00am. Some skills fill up very quickly, so please be sure to save the date and time in your calendar today!  Registration will remain open until May 19; however, skill choices will close as they fill.

*To register for this event, you must have a myRPC account. If you do not have an account, please create one now. For help with myRPC, please email myrpchelp@rockpointechurch.org.

Once you receive your account information, you can register for this event by clicking on the skill button below on or after April 6. After your initial myRPC set up, it will be easier than ever before to register for events, give online, interact with your RockPointe groups, and manage your RPC calendar. Skill Options

CrossTraining 2019 offers 13 skill choices. Each child will select ONE skill that he/she will learn during the entire week. Please note the grade level requirements for each skill.

To register for CrossTraining, please choose the skill track your child wants to study for the week and click on that skill below.  Registration opens on Saturday, March 30 at 8:00am.

**STOP!  PLEASE READ:  You must register YOUR CHILD for the skill, which may require you to “CHANGE RESPONDENT” on the form from your information to your child’s information.  After registering, you will receive a confirmation email that includes further details. If you do not receive this confirmation, your child is not registered.

Art

Completed Kinder - Completed 5th grade

 

This skill is a fun way for children to explore their artistic side. Children will experience hands-on art projects using a variety of different mediums such as painting, drawing, sewing, pottery, and more.

Basketball

Completed Kinder - Completed 5th grade

 

Does your child dream of becoming the next Kevin Durant or Michael Jordan? Even the greats have to start with the basics! In this skill, kids will learn the basics of basketball including dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork.

Cheerleading

Completed Kinder - Completed 5th grade

 

Do you ever wonder where your kiddo gets all of that energy and enthusiasm? Channel it into this sport which fosters the encouragement of others! Children will learn the basics of cheerleading through rotations that include stunting, jumps, cheers, and chants.

Cooking

Completed 2nd - Completed 5th grade

 

Does your child love to watch cooking shows on TV or like to help you bake cookies or make dinner? In this skill, children will enjoy the art of cooking through making sweet and savory dishes.

 

**Children with severe gluten and peanut allergies are not encouraged to select this skill.

Dance

Completed Kinder - Completed 5th grade

 

Does your little girl dance to imaginary songs in your living room? Allow her to express herself while she learns dance styles such as ballet, jazz, modern, and contemporary through technique training and choreography.

Drama

Completed 3rd - Completed 5th grade

 

This skill will bring out the most creative and dramatic parts of your children (in a good way)! Kids will learn about drama through various mediums such as skits, improv, and creative story telling.

Fishing

Completed 2nd - Completed 5th grade

 

Children will gain fishing skills such as learning the difference between lures, baiting a hook, and casting while fishing in a pond stocked by the children themselves. So much fun!

Flag Football

Completed Kinder - Completed 5th grade

 

We are excited to offer a Texas favorite again this year - football! Children will explore the fundamentals of flag football such as throwing, catching, and running routes and plays.

 
Marksmanship

Completed 3rd - Completed 5th grade

 

Has your child been accidentally knocking your pictures off the wall with rubber bullets or darts? Here's their chance to learn accuracy through a little target practice! Children will learn the basic skills of archery and riflery as well as safety rules when engaging in these outdoor sports.

Martial Arts & Sports Skills

Completed Kinder - Completed 3rd grade

 

Not interested in concentrating on just one thing this week? That's ok - this skill has a little bit of everything! This year, we have combined the Martial Arts and Sports Skills offerings into one! During one rotation, children will learn fundamentals of martial arts while gaining new skills and an increased confidence. During the other rotation, children will enjoy learning about a variety of different sports including lacrosse, kickball, track and field, and more!

Ranch Skills

Completed 4th - Completed 5th grade

 

Have you ever wondered what a day in the life of a rancher might include? Children will get to experience some of those very things while learning basic skills used in ranching like wood working, roping, forging, and leather working.

Soccer

Completed Kinder - Completed 3rd grade

 

Children will have the time of their lives learning about the sport of indoor soccer (futsol) as well as outdoor soccer while working on the basics of dribbling, shooting, and scoring.

Science Lab

Completed 4th - Completed 5th grade

 

If your child enjoys exploring the unexplained, this is the skill for them! We will encourage that curiosity through engaging experiments, amazing hands-on activities, and mind-blowing fun!

Special Needs

We are excited to offer the following skills for children with special needs: Art, Basketball, Cheerleading, Dance, Fishing, Martial Arts & Sports Skills, and Soccer.

Volunteer

Interested in volunteering for CrossTraining?  We’d love to have you!  Adults and students (age 12+ and completed 6th grade and up) are encouraged to volunteer for this amazing opportunity to pour into the next generation.
