Help CCA Feed Local Children This Summer

For over 50 years, Christian Community Action (CCA) has been a lifeline for families in crisis. Through crisis management and their discipleship approach to building relationships with the people they serve, CCA brings hope where it’s needed most—ensuring that struggling families don’t have to walk alone.

But right now, as summer approaches, many children in our community face a new challenge: hunger.

When School’s Out, Hunger Sets In

For many children, school meals are their most reliable source of nutrition. When summer break begins, so does a season of uncertainty.

  • 35% of children in Denton County qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.
  • 1 in 5 children in North Texas faces food insecurity.

HOW CAN WE HELP?

We are partnering with CCA’s Kids Eat Free Program, which will serve 1,250 children every week.

At RockPointe, we are called to love and serve our neighbors. By donating essential food items, we can help fill the gap for struggling families.

WAYS TO INVEST

We invite you to share your blessings by donating from the list below. Every item you give directly supports a child in need, offering nourishment and reassurance that they are valued and love

Please note: It’s important to donate the correct sizes so items can be easily packed into bags for the children.

  • 2.05 oz. Macaroni & cheese, individual-size microwavable cups
  • Cup of noodles, microwavable cups
  • Chef Boyardee Beef Ravioli in Pasta Sauce, 7.5 oz. microwavable bowl
  • Toaster pastries (e.g., Pop-Tarts) or granola bars
  • Cereal, single-serve boxes or bowls
  • Oatmeal, individual-size microwavable bowls or packets
  • Fruit cups, individual size, easy open
  • Applesauce, individual cups/pouches
  • 1-1.5 oz. Bags of Goldfish crackers or Cheez-It crackers
  • Pringle Potato Crisps Chips, Snack Stacks, Lunch Snacks

WAYS TO PRAY

  • Pray for the Lord’s covering and protection over the children served through the Kids Eat Free program.

  • Pray that the Lord would provide for the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of every child in this program.

  • Pray that the staff and volunteers at CCA would have meaningful gospel conversations with the families they serve.

  • Pray that the Lord would encourage, strengthen, and equip the staff at CCA as they serve these families.

Naomi’s Village - Kenya

WHO THEY ARE:

Naomi’s Village is a fully registered children’s home designed to provide intentional care for total orphans. Since their founding in 2011, they have witnessed God’s sovereignty through the homecoming of over 90 children, whose lives have proven time and time again to be miraculous gifts that were set apart to change the world. Their children have experienced the devastating effects of abandonment, terrorism, AIDs, natural disasters, and domestic violence. The prayer filled plans we have for the future of every single child that enters Naomi’s Village are part of a remarkable calling of God, to one day see the comforting of the vast wound that stretches across not only the Naomi’s Village family, but deeply across the heart of Kenya.

DID YOU KNOW...

RockPointe Church has partnered with Naomi’s Village for many years and currently sponsor two girls through their sponsorship program. Soni (she is in high school and lives at Naomi’s Village) and Stephany (she is in preschool and attends LEAP Preschool). A team from RockPointe was able to visit Naomi’s village last year and spend time with the children and community!

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED:

  • Pray for Naomi’s Village, the children, and the teachers, and that they would be an impact to the children there and to the community at large.
  • Sponsor a child

YOUR SPONSORSHIP PROVIDES:

  • Nutritionally balanced meals and snacks. Regular medical evaluations and a personalized health plan, including dental and vision care. Excellent education by certified Kenyan teachers. School uniforms, shoes, socks, gym clothing, gym shoes, and all necessary books and supplies. Bus transport to and from school every day. Enriching extracurricular activities, including singing, art, dancing, martial arts, etc. Spiritual care and development provided by a full-time pastor.

  • Cornerstone Preparatory Academy and LEAP Preschool Children receive all the above, plus: Parental/family assistance provided by the Maendeleo Initiative, our community-based program that addresses five key life domains. Provision of additional trainings and printed resources to parents of students on topics such as family health, hygiene, child development, nutrition, and literacy.

  • Naomi’s Village Home sponsored children also receive: A comfortable bed, warm showers daily, attentive caregiving by our loving staff, rich spiritual training, excellent sports and play facilities, and scheduled off-site enrichment activities. Routine trips to spend time with extended family to foster a sense of belonging. Individualized trauma counseling when needed. Bring change to Kenya. Our kids have big dreams for themselves and for their nation’s future. Your sponsorship, large or small, will help them create a brighter tomorrow for Kenya.
