About Your Family
I have a large family! Two brothers and two sisters. My parents were missionaries when I was young and my dad has been in missions my entire life and my mom is a teacher at Coram Deo academy. My oldest brother Zak is an electrician, my other older brother Brock works for a pipeline company. My older sister is in residency in Minnesota and my younger sister is adopted and will be attending the University of Oklahoma next year.
What’s your story?
Let me start at the beginning. I grew up in a great house with four siblings. My parents were great and my dad was a pastor. Being a pastor’s kid I felt like I needed to be perfect, or at least appear to be perfect. Because of this I kept my sin in secret and that sin began to eat at me. Going into high school, I wanted to keep this up and do everything on my own strength. I wanted to act like I knew what I was doing and that nothing was wrong…but the Lord always has different plans for His people. Junior year the Lord allowed me to get injured and take me out of football for the year. It was devastating. I was mad, upset, and questioning why it would happen. I thought this was the year that I would be seen by colleges and get the offer I was wanting. The Lord knew that this would be a time of refining and re-centering my life. He began to show me the effects of my sin and so I sought friends and older leaders to guide me. Throughout the next year I began to understand football wasn’t my world and there was more to life. I decided to go play football at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor for a semester. During that semester I strayed far from the Lord and sank into anxiety and depression. I came home after my first semester and took classes online and went to counseling. It helped but I was still not where the Lord wanted. I went to The University of Oklahoma the next three years and was able to play football for some of my time there. But I met some incredibly God fearing men that showed me what a man of God is. After graduating I had the privilege of marrying my wife Sydney and we have been married for almost 9 months now! It has been a fun and exciting time and some of the most growth in my walk with the Lord. I continue to seek where the Lord wants me and what he wants from me, a road to sanctification but I am honored to be where I am and yearn for what is to come. The past few months I worked in pharmaceuticals sales and some construction and hope my experience in that realm will help me with where i am now!
